The Advocacy Group of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) focuses on networking and lobbying efforts at the local, state and federal government levels to enhance the region's business climate, economy and overall quality of life. This group focuses on the promotion of public policy and legislative positions through direct lobbying efforts with the appropriate entities.
Advocacy is also responsible for cultivating and strengthening relationships between the Chamber and elected and administration officials at the local, state, and federal levels of government.

The committees of the Advocacy Group have various functions, often times they may work in concert due to the nature of public policy and legislation.

The Advocacy Group undertakes various trips throughout the year to engage the State Legislature, Members of Congress and their staff, State and Federal agencies on issues outlined in the Chamber’s Legislative Agenda.

LEGISLATIVE AGENDA
The Federal and State Legislative Packages are the business agenda for the South Florida business community. The Packages are developed from input from the Chamber membership, substantive committees, business leaders, allied associations and business groups as well as key community stakeholders.
The targeted issues are pertinent to our community and region. They will be advanced by the Advocacy Group with the appropriate entities.
These issues cover a wide range of subject areas such as transportation, immigration, education and economic development, just to name a few.

ADVOCACY REVIEW
The GMCC Advocacy Review is a compilation of published news stories prepared by the Advocacy staff.
The Review is a wrap-up of domestic and international news stories from a wide range of media outlets. It includes information on issues, news, politics and policy.
The Review is sent out three times a week on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s to a list of subscribers.
